The story of Buya Hamka’s dialogue with Habib and Ustad who was deceived by the shaman

In the 80s, Panji Masyarakat facilitated B dialogueuya Hamka with a female shaman is nicknamed Pangrukti Aji aka Putri Sakti

On October 28, 80’s there was a woman nicknamed Pangrukti Aji (Alias Putri Sakti), her real name was Wartingingsih, reportedly she was a female shaman, claiming to experience supernatural things like a guardian. He admitted that he met Sunan Kalijogo and was given the name Pangrukti Aji.

At first Pangrukti Aji saw mysterious writing in the glass. Contents: “Yaa ayyuhalladzina aamanu ittaqullaha haqqa tuqaatih.”

Later, he claimed to have met Sunan Kali Jogo and received an authentic story from him about Wali Songo. For this reason, he wanted to make the film Wali Songo, which was based on the direct story of Sunan Kali Jogo.

Apparently, the one who believed in this story was also a well-known character, namely Mas Agung. There is even a Habib named Nuh Al-Haddad and a Ustadz named Ahmad Rifa’i. The Sinar Terang Foundation was also established to support it.

On 28 October 1980, Mas Agung, Pangrukti Aji, Habib Sayyid Al-Haddad and Ustadz Ahmad Rifa’i met with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

Surprisingly, the one who recounted this incident was Ustadz Rifa’i, who never witnessed the incident and only heard from Pangrukti Aji. He believed this to be an extraordinary event. He was very amazed and very sure of Pangruti Aji’s experience.

When this was asked of Buya Hamka, in general he said that it was very difficult to believe that someone could meet someone who had died in person. Moreover, accompanied dawuh and inspiration.

“Because no one is in control, people can say that they have met the Prophet Muhammad, but those words are not guaranteed to be true,” said Buya Hamka. “If the Prophet Muhammad did have a hadith, for example a Muslim history which shows that people who dream of meeting the Prophet Muhammad are true, because the devil cannot resemble him.”

Buya Hamka then bombarded Ustadz Rifa’i with several questions, what is the dignity of Wali Songo with the Prophet? Who actually came to Pangruti Aji and delivered dawuh the idea. Buya Hamka said, most likely ghosts and genies.

Then it was Mas Agung’s turn to say. He was given the name directly from Sunan Kalijogo as Bawono Aji. He admits that he can treat all kinds of diseases that even doctors cannot treat.

“Maybe that’s true, maybe God blesses you, but Islam is not shamanism, questions like that are small things that don’t need to be exaggerated,” concluded Buta Hamka.

Don’t forget to remind him of the Arabic expression that recommends that we focus on being grateful for the giver of favors, not on favors.

Long story short, they got nothing. Permission to make a wangsit version of the Wali Songo film or dawuh Even Sunan Kali Jogo did not get the blessing, unless it came from a clear and accountable source. This story was covered in a magazine Community Banner No. 307 (XXII/1980) with the title “WANGSIT DIALOGUE, BETWEEN MAS AGUNG AND BUYA HAMKA.”

Apparently the meeting was not satisfactory. So on Thursday, November 13, 1980, at the Nusa Indah Restaurant, Kartika Chandra building, a press conference was held between the administrators of the Jalan Terang Foundation and journalists from the Capital City.

Those present included: Pangratu Aji, Mas Agung, Fuad Muntako, Habib Nuh Al-Haddad and Ustadz Ahmad Rifa’i. Maybe this is a form of clarification. Also present at that time were the police and the Ministry of Religion.

The event was delayed by an hour and could only start at 11 o’clock in the afternoon. Initially opened by Mas Agung then delivered by Pangruti Aji who will read his explanation as thick as 20 pages. The title is “PANGRUTI AJI’S EXPLANATION TO THE PRESS ABOUT THE TRUTH OF THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE occult, which he has received since 1963”.

Then he told a lot of unseen things with Sunan Kali Jogo. Many translations of the verse are used as a backup. Then he was a bit blundered when he said there was a verse in the Qur’an which means: “Only the saints know the history of their sainthood.”

When asked about this problem by a reporter, he was in a hurry not being able to say what verse. In fact, Habib Nuh Al-Haddad commented that it was Surah Yunus. The funny thing is that Ustadz Rifa’i denied that it was not a verse but a hadith.

And when it was asked whether the hadith was authentic or not, it turned out that Ustadz Rifa’i answered: forgot.

In the dialogue, Pangruti Aji looks embarrassed and bows his head. Habib and Ustadz, who were originally supporters, even blamed each other. The audience roared.

Finally, the initial plan of the Press Conference to restore the name of Pangrukti AJI failed miserably. He was unable to convince the public about the supernatural he experienced. This news was covered by Irfan Hamka in the magazine Community Banner No. 308 (XXII/1980) with the title “DATE 13 UNLUCKY FIGURES FOR PANGRUKTI AJI”.

Such stories seem to keep repeating themselves. Some claim to be guardians, receive unseen news and so on.

Surprisingly, there are also believers. Who couldn’t understand it, someone who claimed to be a habib and a cleric also believed in it by looking for justifications from the Qur’an and Hadith.

In the end they were ashamed of themselves. Because they are fixated on the unseen, but the Shari’a is ignored.

The story of this dialogue can be a valuable lesson for all levels of society. Especially for Muslims, even for habaib, ustadz or Islamic religious leaders whose knowledge is recognized; so that it is not easy to believe in people who announce guardianship and unseen things.

Moreover, to admit Imam Mahdi even the Prophet. I remember writing KH. Haysim Asy’ari ever published in the magazine Community Banner the point is that the true guardian is hiding himself, not making it public.
